Alki Beach Vault !!!

Coach Stark may have already talked to most of you about this, but just in case...anyone interested in jumping at the Alki (Seattle) Beach Vault on Saturday July 11th needs to make sure and get signed up soon. In addition to the competition cost ($40.00) you will also have to be a USATF member.

All information is on this website: http://www.polevaultpower.com/streetvault/alki/

Let Coach Stark know if you are planning to go so he/we can get the poles you need. You cannot sign up the day of the event. You must register ahead of time!

There is also a beach vault in Tacoma on July 4th, but I am not going to that. I don't think Coach Stark is either, but I'm pretty sure he's planning for Alki which is the most fun anyway. Big crowd, loud music, lots of great vaulting all day long including 17 to 18 footers. Heights you've probably never witnessed !!!

Even if you don't jump, you can still come and watch for free. Hope to see some of you there.

John 4

Now He left Judea and departed again for Galilee. And he had to pass through Samaria. So he came to a town of Samaria called Sychar, near the field that Jacob had given to his son Joseph. Jacob's well was there; so Jesus, wearied as he was from his journey, was sitting beside the well. It was about the sixth hour.

A woman from Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.” (For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.) The Samaritan woman said to him, “How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?” (g For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.) Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.” The woman said to him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw water with, and the well is deep. Where do you get that living water? Are you greater than our father Jacob? He gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock.” Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him l will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I will not be thirsty or have to come here to draw water.”

Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.” The woman answered him, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You are right in saying, ‘I have no husband’; for you have had five husbands, and the one you now have is not your husband. What you have said is true.” The woman said to him, “Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship.” Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is a from the Jews. But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah is coming (he who is called Christ). When he comes, he will tell us all things.” Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am he.”

Just then his disciples came back. They marveled that he was talking with a woman, but no one said, “What do you seek?” or, “Why are you talking with her?” So the woman left her water jar and went away into town and said to the people, “Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?” They went out of the town and were coming to him.

Everett Stadium

Alright everyone..
We have Everettt Stadium scheduled for Mondays between 3 and 4:30 pm. Pass the word around and please let me know who can attend. The practice is only an hour or so because the stadium security has to lock up, but I still think it is worthwhile. On Monday afternoons I might not be able to stop by Jackson first because it is out of my way. I might have to pick up the poles either Saturday or Sunday for the practice on Monday.

I also have forms that need to be signed for summer practices. Please remind me to give you one when you see me.

How to Read

"There are two ways to read the Bible. The one way to read the Bible is that it’s basically about you: what you have to do in order to be right with God, in which case you’ll never have a sure and certain hope, because you’ll always know you’re not quite living up. You’ll never be sure about that future. Or you can read it as all about Jesus. Every single thing is not about what you must do in order to make yourself right with God, but what he has done to make you absolutely right with God. And Jesus Christ is saying, “Unless you can read the Bible right, unless you can understand salvation by grace, you’ll never have a sure and certain hope. But once you understand it’s all about me, Jesus Christ, then you can know that you have peace. You can know that you have this future guaranteed, and you can face anything.” T. Keller
